On July 18, 2021, Velo City Riders kicked-off the Bring Your Child to Ride in conjunction with the Howard County Police Department and our sponsor, Chiron Technologies.
The main goal of this initiative is to provide the children some time on their bikes to get them outside and away from the video games and television. The children had 4 stations where they were taught basic bicycle safety skills. They went through turns, had to ride past obstacles and learn how to respond to basic directions on their bikes. There were a total of 18 children in attendance ranging from ages 6 -18 years of age. The event runs every Sunday morning from July 18 through August 15th 2021 with each week focusing on a different skill. The Velo City Riders Cycling Club children will carry on the legacy of the cycling club for many years to come
